Healthy living is at the heart of Safwa, whose locally grown produce comes from a Qatari family farm - Wahat Al-Shafalahia.

"With a vision to propel Qatar to the top in the agriculture industry, Safwa, a local agricultural business, sells home-grown produce that is sustainably farmed," according to a press statement.

Wahat Al-Shafalahia was established by the Alfardan family in 1975. Passed down through the generations, the farm has "become the centre of modern agriculture and catered to the local communities over the years", the statement notes.

Fardan Fahad Alfardan, general manager, said: “At Safwa, we look at sustainability as a natural part of what we offer. The highest quality fresh produce is best grown through sustainable means. Safwa’s modern technology optimises and scales up the process but the core concept remains the same – fresh produce from our family farm to your family table.

"We view this as our social responsibility towards Qatar and its people, and we are proud to be in a position where we can help the community with healthier options while doing so in a sustainable manner.”

Inspired by the wise vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Safwa aims to promote Qatari products and help Qatar’s growth become more sustainable, as well as help the country become self-sufficient, the statement explains.

"A healthy family lies at the heart of Safwa. All the green leafy vegetables are fresh and completely pesticide-free. Safwa produces green leafy vegetables for the health-conscious community that appreciates flavour and quality," it adds.

Safwa’s farming practices are environment-friendly. With an immense focus on sustainability, specialised scientific techniques are used, such as progressive and technologically advanced automated hydroponics farming. Even Safwa’s packaging is completely eco-friendly, showcasing their premium products in the most sustainable way possible.

Safwa’s products are available in all major supermarkets in addition to the option of ordering directly through Safwa’s website or by downloading the mobile application. Freshly harvested products will be delivered to the customer’s doorstep on the same day.
