CR’s predicted reliability score is calculated on a 0-to-100-point scale, with the average rating falling between 41 and 60 points. Meanwhile, the 2021 Mazda CX-5 was recently named a ‘Car and Driver’ 10Best winner, the fourth consecutive year that Mazda’s compact crossover SUV has received the award.
Recognising Mazda CX-5, ‘Car and Driver’ praised the compact cross over SUV for driving dynamics, design and value. The Mazda CX-5 offers many premium features as standard, such as Mazda’s suite of i-Activsense safety features, including Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. A new centre display in the CX-5 features the latest Mazda Connect infotainment interface along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto providing the occupants with seamless integration with their smartphone and helps enhance the sophisticated experience in the vehicle, according to a press statement by NCC.
“The Mazda CX-5 is the crossover we recommend to friends who are shopping for crossovers,” said Sharon Silke Carty, editor-in-chief of ‘Car and Driver’. “It has the right combination of good looks, price and handling and has become a regular on our 10Best list.”
The ‘Car and Driver’ staff evaluated 57 vehicles during two weeks of testing, before voting on its 2021 10Best winners. The award recognises the smartest, most entertaining cars, trucks, SUVs and vans on sale. “We judge vehicles with an emphasis on value, mission fulfilment and whether they are fun to drive,” Carty said. “Each of the 10 winners competes against the entire market to earn this recognition.”
US News & World Report has named Mazda the ‘Best Car Brand’ for the sixth consecutive year. Mazda won this car class on the strength of its class leading Mazda3, Mazda6 and MX-5 Miata.
According to US News & World Report, the Mazda3, Mazda6 and MX-5 Miata offer superior performance and handling and feature premium, quality, and upscale interiors. At the heart of each Mazda vehicle is SKYACTIV Technology, which includes precise engineering paired with artful craftsmanship.
“Mazda won the Best Car Brand award due to the strength of the Mazda3, Mazda6 and MX-5 Miata,” said US News & World Report executive editor Jamie Page Deaton. “All three models have top-notch performance that puts an emphasis on direct, sporty handling, as well as quality interiors that are more upscale than their price tags might suggest.”
Mazda’s path-breaking SKYACTIV family of technologies lifts performance to new heights and delivers sheer driving pleasure at the same time.
Mazda is constantly looking for ways to increase the efficiency of its engines without sacrificing performance. While most of the automotive world has given up on innovating the internal combustion engine, Mazda believes there is still room for improvement. It is this obsession with squeezing more efficiency through continuous improvements that has led to some of Mazda’s most prolific breakthroughs.
The Kodo – Soul Motion design, breathing life into the car, has been redefined by strengthening the low, wide expression of the evolved Mazda identity. Mazda has settled on ‘refined toughness’ as a keyword and challenged themselves to elevate the Kodo concept to a new level.
Mazda new-generation vehicles are equipped with G-Vectoring Control Plus, the first of the SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS technologies. Driving performance has been polished in line with human sensibilities, realising dynamic behaviour that corresponds with driver expectations and a comfortable ride with minimal torso-sway for all vehicle’s occupants.
Mazda’s commitment to making vehicles that thrill and delight is evident in the driving dynamics derived from the confident inspiring i-ACTIV AWD, which is far ahead in technology and performance than any contemporary crossover SUV, the statement adds.
