HEC Paris has ended the ‘Managing Business in Challenging Times’ online custom-designed programme for Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). The programme was delivered by Prof Roger Hallowell and attended by 40 senior executives from the finance and banking sectors, as well as from trading, and oil & gas.
As part of the learning initiative, the programme also included a webinar on ‘Responding to global economic and geopolitical disruptors’ by Dr Serge Besanger, professor of Strategy and Economics at HEC Paris. KFAS is a private, non-profit organisation set up to promote science, technology and innovation within Kuwait and its private sector contributing companies.
Combining strategic thinking with leadership qualities, ‘Managing Business in Challenging Times’ was aimed at enhancing senior managers' skills to cope with an uncertain environment and with unforeseen challenges. The participants were provided with insights on the best practices of leadership, and educated about various leadership styles to be adopted under conditions of VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity), HEC Paris said in a statement.
HEC Paris custom-designed programmes help executives and senior managers enhance their leadership skills, including their ability to design and implement change, the statement adds. “HEC Paris’ award-winning custom programmes are very relevant for today´s uncertain world,” said Dr Pablo Martin de Holan, dean of HEC Paris in Qatar. “Under uncertain conditions, the quality of the leaders makes the difference, and our programmes are designed to enhance leadership skills under VUCA conditions.”
HEC Paris’ custom-designed programmes were ranked No 2 worldwide by the 'Financial Times' in 2020. They are fully customised leadership development programmes that enable participants to reflect upon themselves, their organisation, their role within their industry, and the position their company occupies on the national and global stage.
The programmes incorporate blended solutions, including case studies, business simulations and bespoke digital portals, and are further accentuated by elements like professional and executive coaching, projects tackling real-life challenges and international study tours, for a lasting transformational impact.
