About 300 real estate brokers have registered so far to practice the profession, a source familiar with the Ministry of Justice told local Arabic daily Arrayah.
Registration is continuing through the official website for real estate brokers under various categories, such as a sole broker, local legal entity, or a foreign broker.
While 100 individuals have completed the specialised training course, 25 took the oath as real estate brokers and obtained licenses, the daily explained.
The website also includes a presentation on the information required and allows the broker to upload his documents without the need to contact the administration, unless he wants to register in person.
The source told Arrayah that a screening process is underway for brokers who have registered to exclude those who do not meet the requirements.
The provisions of Law No. 22 of 2017 regarding the organisation of real estate brokerage practice stipulate that a Qatari national is allowed to engage in the profession as a sole trader whereas a non-Qatari can work as partner/broker under a Qatari manager.
