Tunisian President Kais Saied visited the Shura Council Monday. He was received at the Shura Council by HE the Shura Council Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, HE the Deputy Speaker Mohamed bin Abdulla al-Sulaiti and a number of members of the Shura Council.
During the meeting, HE the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed President Saied, stressing the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples. He praised the advanced level that relations between the two countries have reached in various fields thanks to the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President Saied.
During the meeting, HE the Speaker noted that the Amir announced that the Shura Council elections will be held in October 2021. He praised President Saied's stances towards Arab issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, and praised his efforts to bring peace to Libya, preserve its unity and sovereignty, and meet the aspirations of its people.
For his part, President Saied expressed happiness at his visit to the Shura Council and welcomed the Council elections.
He affirmed the strength of the relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples, as well as the important role of parliaments in unifying positions, bringing countries and peoples closer together, and defending just causes.
