The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) has received Digital Access Certification for its website from the Assistive Technology Centre (Mada).
It has been granted for applying the web content accessibility standards for persons with disabilities, elderly and those with functional limitations.
The certificate is awarded to websites that provide digital access to content and e-services, in addition to meeting the requirements and guideline for web content access.
Mada's award, which is the first of its kind to be granted to a financial institution in Qatar, was handed over to Rashid bin Ali al-Mansoori, chief executive of the QSE.
"The QSE website is easy to access and effective with a distinctive design according to the latest international standards. It allows easy access to the QSE’s services and information,' said Aisha al-Mahmoud, Director of the QSE’s IT department.
The QSE’s keenness to achieve digital access comes in implementation of Doha's interest in fostering digital access and inclusiveness consistent with the Qatar National Visions 2030 and the UN’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
Qatar has ranked first worldwide on the Digital Accessibility Rights Evaluation Index 2020 (DARE Index 2020) released by the Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies (G3ict).
