The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Public Relations Department (Awareness Section) and Mechanical Equipment Department, has launched a safety and security campaign for workers and drivers in co-operation with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRC).
The initiative seeks to raise awareness among the targeted individuals of the precautionary and preventive measures that must be followed to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the MME said in a statement yesterday.
The campaign aims to spread a culture of safety, security and occupational health at workplaces, and will be conducted in English and Urdu. It will help guarantee the protection of employees and workers of the municipality and protect them against infectious diseases, the statement adds.
The first phase of the campaign began yesterday and would continue until November 26, featuring nine awareness lectures and field training sessions.
The campaign was launched in the presence of Nasser Abdulrahman al-Sarami, director of the MME’S Public Relations Department; Dr Ghanem al-Sulaiti, director of the QRCS Training, Research and Development Centre; Marzouq Mubarak al-Misfri, assistant director of the MME’s Mechanical Equipment Department, and a number of MME employees and officials.
