With the start of technical tests of the Lusail Tram, Qatar Rail has advised road users to exercise due caution and stressed the fact that "trams cannot stop as quickly as cars".

"The tram is different than any other road vehicle, it does not stop as quickly as a car. The tram runs on tramway tracks with a steady speed. Pay attention if the tram is on the road," Qatar Rail said in an advisory on Twitter on Monday.

On Sunday, Qatar Rail had announced the start of the tram's technical tests in Lusail City. “We have started the technical tests of the Lusail Tram in Lusail City, and therefore we urge drivers and pedestrians in that area to abide by traffic signals on the roads to ensure their safety,” Qatar Rail said in a tweet on Monday.
