Qatar participated Saturday via videoconferencing in the work of the 340th session of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Governing Body.
Qatar was represented in the session by HE the Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Yousuf bin Mohamed al-Othman Fakhro.
HE the Minister delivered a speech before the governing body in which he talked about the legislation that Qatar had implemented in the field of labour, which moved the Qatari labour market to an effective and competitive stage and contributed to enhancing the work and investment environment, and creating a balanced and attractive work environment.
The minister stressed the continuation of close cooperation with the ILO and friendly countries through joint programmes.
Members of the ILO Governing Body praised what has been achieved in the field of labour in Qatar and joint cooperation, through the speeches and interventions of representatives of employers and workers' team, the Asian group, the European Union, and the governments of India, Britain, the United States of America, Canada and Switzerland.
