The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has reiterated the need to follow the Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures to ensure everyone's safety. The ministry has posted a slew of awareness messages on social media to remind the public of the need to follow these measures.
"Compromising on safety measures against the coronavirus in commercial complexes and public places will lead to an increase in the spread of infection," one of the posts said. "Your commitment to the preventive measures enhances your safety and that of others."
Using a facemask, practising social distancing and keeping the Ehteraz app activated are essential measures to control the spread of Covid-19, the MoI stressed. "Adherence to the above reflects your social commitment to public safety," it added.
The ministry said people's commitment to wearing a mask while they go out protects them and others from coronavirus and reflects their concern for public safety, especially while they are in enclosed spaces and shopping complexes.
A gap of 2m should be maintained from other people to ensure proper social distancing. Noting that compliance with the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus is one's "national and moral duty", the MoI said: "As a reminder of Cabinet decisions, all citizens and residents are obligated not to have more than four persons in a vehicle, including the driver, and to wear the mask while going out."
Families are exempted from the rule to have a maximum of four persons in a vehicle. The ministry also stressed that showing the Ehteraz app status while entering shopping malls, public institutions, ministries and other public places ensures your safety and that of others... always make sure to display the app.
To ensure that the Ehteraz app works properly, people should keep their device's Bluetooth enabled and location feature activated. The device should also be connected to the Internet. The app gives access to multiple services that help enhance Covid-19 precautionary measures and prevent the spread of the virus, in addition to providing information on the latest developments, statistics, notifications, alerts and awareness instructions.
