The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, announced that part of Zekreet Street will be closed on the southbound route towards Wadi Al Salamiya Street, for five months from Saturday, November 7, in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic. During this period, traffic on the closed part of Zekreet Street will be diverted to the opposite direction of the street, and divided into one lane in each direction, instead of two, as shown on the map.
The diversion aims to implement upgrading works on Zekreet Street as part of the Roads and Infrastructure Project in Al-Kharaitiyat (Package 4). This will help improve local traffic flow and upgrade infrastructure utilities in the area.
Ashghal will install directional signs to alert road users of this traffic change. The Authority urged commuters to abide by the speed limit and follow the road signs for safety.
