Daniel Rivadeneira, charge d’affaires at Ecuadorian embassy in Qatar, has praised the speech delivered by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Tuesday at the opening of the 49th ordinary session of the Shura Council.
“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Ecuador, I would like to extend my congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, for his speech, and I hope that this new session will be full of achievements similar to the previous ones,” Rivadeneira said in a statement yesterday.
“The strong speech highlighted the ability and determination of Qatar to confront all the circumstances and challenges, and its keenness to strengthen its economy to overcome the crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic that affected all countries of the world,” Rivadeneira said.
“His Highness also clarified the measures taken by the State and emphasised the strength of the health system, which has proven its competence in facing this crisis and mitigating its repercussions.”
He added, “Moreover, it is worthy to commend the strategy that the wise leadership of Qatar has followed in dealing with the blockade through dialogue and negotiations, in addition to the availability of security and stability factor. “We greatly value the continuous efforts made by Qatar to reform and strengthen its institutions, especially the financial support amounting to QR75bn extended by the government to the country’s private sector to navigate the initial hardships caused by the pandemic, as well as its effective international role through its humanitarian contributions and aid to support countries around the world in their battle against the pandemic.
“On the other hand, the speech of His Highness highlighted the strengths of Qatar and clearly reflected the State’s policy and its positions towards regional and international issues, especially the Palestinian cause. As we are realising that, Ecuador seeks to consolidate and develop its mutual relations with Qatar, as we indeed observe great progress in our relations year after year.”
