National Commission for Education, Culture and Science (QNCECS) yesterday honoured principals and co-ordinators of Unesco-affiliated schools and students who won in activities and events carried out during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 academic years.
QNCECS Secretary-General Dr Hamda Hassan al-Sulaiti said that despite challenges due to Covid-19 pandemic, Qatari schools made many achievements and participated in many events.
The activities would support the educational process and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals which aim to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Al-Sulaiti commended the students who actively participated in the Unesco’s celebrations, and praised winners of the drawing and photography competition at the primary, preparatory and secondary levels.
The competition included the main themes of the Unesco Associated Schools’ plan of activities.
Al-Sulaiti thanked all the schools participating and co-operating with QNCECS in the programmes, activities, and projects.
