His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has called for Istisqaa (rain-seeking) Prayer to be performed across the country on Thursday morning, 19 Rabi' al-Awwal 1442 AH, corresponding to November 5, 2020.
The Amir will perform the Istisqaa Prayer with crowds of worshippers at Al-Wajba prayer ground.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs has called on all Muslims in the State to perform Istisqa Prayer on Thursday at 6am local time at a number of mosques in the country. It has prepared 78 mosques for the prayer. Istisqa Prayer is performed in line with the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) when rain is lacking.
In a statement, the ministry reminded Muslims of the requirements for the acceptance of du'a (supplication to Allah) which include fasting, offering Sadaqah (charity), repentance to Allah, cleaning their bodies and using miswak (a teeth-cleaning twig).
