Turkish ambassador Mehmet Mustafa Göksu has expressed his appreciation and thanks for the support of the government of Qatar and its people with regard to the recent earthquake in Izmir, Turkey.
"I have received many calls from Qatar officials and members of the public who have expressed their solidarity, and readiness to extend support and aid to Turkey," he said.
The envoy stressed that the Turkish government is doing its best to help the families of the victims and injured to compensate them for the losses in all possible ways. He also stressed that the situation is under control.
Ambassador Goksu also talked about telephone conversation His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani had with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, when he expressed his condolences for the victims and the readiness of Qatar to help in easing the effects of the earthquake.
