HE the Shura Council Speaker, Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, met on Sunday with the Chairman of Libya's High Council, Khaled Ammar al-Mishri, and his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they reviewed the co-operation relations between the two brotherly countries, especially in the parliamentary field and ways to support and develop them, in addition to discussing the latest developments in the situation in Libya.
During the meeting, HE the Shura Council Speaker welcomed the ceasefire agreement in all Libyan territories, affirming Qatar's firm positions towards Libya, in support of its unity and sovereignty and the internationally recognised Government of National Accord.
He expressed the hope that a comprehensive political solution would soon be found that would achieve stability in Libya in accordance with the Skhirat Agreement, the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and the results of the Berlin conference. For his part, al-Mishri praised Qatar's stances and its standing by the Libyan people and its legitimate government and its benevolent efforts for the sake of stability in Libya, preserving its territorial integrity and achieving the aspirations of its people.
