Qatar University (QU) has improved in all subject areas according to Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by subjects 2021.
The ranking assesses universities by their performance in 11 subjects, and QU was ranked in Business and Economics, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences and Clinical Pre-Clinical and Health which is a new addition to the list this year. Clinical and Health subject entered directly in the 176-200th place.
QU has improved in all subject areas. This year QU’s subject wise ranking includes Business and Economics (ranked 301-400), Computer Science (101-125), Education (301-400), Engineering (126-150), Physical Sciences (251-300) and Social Sciences (301-400).
Clinical Pre-Clinical and Health subject was added this year to the list ranking (176-200).
Commenting on this accomplishment, QU president Dr Hassan al-Derham, said: “This is a prestigious moment for QU to make an addition of another subject to the list. This addition signifies the commitment of QU towards its five-year strategy (2018-2022) which maps out the routes to achieving continuing performance excellence.”
“This year’s ranking encourages us to strive more for in the direction of excellence. Our main objective is to prepare national leaders and develop the national human capital towards building a knowledge-based economy. We look forward to consistently increasing our recognition in more subjects in coming years among the top universities in the region and worldwide,” he added.
QU has also jumped 90 places and entered the club of the best 350 International Universities according to THE World University Rankings 2021. The results showed that QU has jumped up to the 301-350 band.
