The College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Astana Civil Service Hub. The MoU lays the groundwork for future collaboration between the two organisations.
The agreement makes provisions for joint research projects on public management in the context of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
The Hub will also share expertise and best practice regarding public administration and disseminate information regarding the CPPs research projects and initiatives.
The latter includes the recently-launched menatracker.org, which records and analyses government responses to the Covid-19 pandemic in 10 Middle Eastern and North African countries. "We are very much looking forward to working with the Astana Civil Service Hub," Founding Dean of CPP Dr Leslie A Pal said, commenting on the occasion.
"The Hub has a membership of over 40 countries, and activities and projects with over 30 more. It is supported by the United Nations Development Programme and has strong relations with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and other international organisations. This partnership paves the way for the College to extend our networks in Central Asia, and also to develop joint research projects and case studies in the near future," he added.
