In conjunction with the Global Big Day, the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar facilitated a visit for a group of interested individuals to observe and record bird sightings at Al Karaana Lagoon, a Public Works Authority (Ashghal) project.
Thierry Lesales, chairman of Qatar Natural History Group, said: "We are very happy to visit Al Karaana Lagoon and make a contribution to the Global Big Day, during which we identified 31 species of birds."
