National Car Company (NCC), the sole agent for Mazda in Qatar for over four decades, has launched the first-ever Mazda CX-30 crossover SUV, the second model in Mazda’s advanced 7th generation lineup.
The 2021 model all new CX-30 variants are now on display at the state-of-the-art Mazda showroom located at Al Nasr, the company said in a statement yesterday.
Positioned between the sub-compact CX-3 and the long-established and popular CX-5, the five-seat CX-30 crossover SUV fulfils the requirements of customers who wish to combine the compact, urban-friendly dimensions of the former with the space and practicality of the latter.
The all-new Mazda CX-30 crossover SUV is the second Mazda model to adopt the latest evolution of Kodo design, a more mature interpretation of the striking design ethos. Based on sleek and bold styling, beautifully designed CX-30 evokes creativity in one’s life combining the flowing beauty of a coupe and the strong proportions of an SUV. The interior is equipped with many premium features, yet remains spacious and comfortable.
The CX-30 is made for a wide range of fans, especially young people who are approaching significant life transitions. The human-centric cockpit helps the driver feel connected with the vehicle but is not isolating from the other occupants. A focus on interior comfort and everyday user-friendliness makes this all-new compact crossover a car for everyone.
With an inviting cabin, the engineers have strived to preserve the peaceful environment by focusing on the noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). Every aspect of the CX-30 was measured, from the tyres to the headliner, to minimise any road noise.
After a comprehensive study on how sounds are transmitted through the vehicle’s cabin, speakers are repositioned depending on their frequency to produce a better sound.
The driver’s seating position is set high to provide a clear field of view. For clear visibility, the shape and thickness of the a-pillars and c-pillars are minimised to help reduce blind spots, while a rear quarter window offers a way to perceive potential vehicles or objects in the rear.
In CX-30, the positioning of the shifter and commander control on the floor console is optimised for operating stability, ease, and comfort. The available Active Driving Display, meters and standard 8.8-inch centre display are all designed to present information in a simple fashion, while the fonts used were unified to create a pleasing and consistent look.
The CX-30 is equipped with a four-cylinder Skyactiv-G 2.0 paired with a quick-shifting Skyactiv-Drive 6 speed automatic transmission. This engine provides class leading power output of 155ps at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The compact crossover is equipped with Mazda’s new off-road traction assist feature, which can potentially help the driver on uneven terrain. G-Vectoring Control Plus and front-wheel drive are standard, while Mazda’s predictive i-Activ all-wheel drive is available on higher trim levels.
The CX-30 comes standard with an 8.8-inch large centre display with MZD Connect, an AM/FM eight-speaker sound system, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio, automatic on/off LED headlights and electronic parking brake. Features such as two front USB inputs, power windows with one-touch up/down feature, rain-sensing windshield wiper, push button start, rearview camera and remote keyless illuminated entry system add convenience for all.
The stunning design features LED headlight and taillights, LED daytime running lights and a matte finish front grille. Based on the trim level, the CX-30 is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry.
For peace of mind, i-Activsense safety suite for higher trim levels includes Driver Attention Alert, Mazda Radar Cruise Control with stop and go function, Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist, Smart Brake Support and High Beam Control. Leather steering wheel and shift knob, premium leather seating surfaces, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air-conditioning vents and rear armrest with cupholders are among the highlights.
Besides the standard 16 inch alloy wheels, higher grades come with 18-inch alloy wheels and includes a rear privacy glass, Bose 12-speaker premium audio, gloss finish speaker grille, shark fin antenna, heated front seats, eight-way power and memory driver’s seat with lumbar support, memory position door mirrors and black gloss finish front grille.
The top-trim CX-30 Premium includes a windshield-projected Active Driving Display, leather seats, power liftgate, power moonroof, Adaptive Front Lighting system, paddle shifters, and LED Signature illumination headlights and taillights.
