Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) has announced the launch of the fourth edition of the Master's programme in sports law.

The programme will be delivered in co-operation with the University of LIeida, Spain, alongside a number of international organisations such as the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) and the Qatar Olympic Committee.

In addition, the official accreditation of the certificate will be by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar.

The programme aims to spread awareness and culture related to sports legal knowledge at the local and international levels, besides the knowledge and clarifications of international law, and how to deal with regulations correctly and professionally.

The QOA annually holds a master's programme in sports law over a period of one year (ten semesters - four days a month). This year, in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the QOA has decided hold the first five semesters via the distance learning system by Microsoft Teams program, while the remaining semesters will be held at the academy's headquarters.

The Executive Director of the QOA, Saif Mohamed al-Nuaimi, said the master's programme in sports law is the only one in the region in this discipline.
