Qatar expressed on Monday its condemnation of the great escalation of populist rhetoric inciting the abuse of religions and affirmed its total rejection of all forms of hate speech based on belief, race or religion.

Qatar noted that inflammatory speech witnessed a dangerous turning point with the persistence of institutional and systematic calls to repeat the targeting of nearly two billion Muslims around the world by deliberately offending the person of the Prophet Mohammed, which resulted in an increase in waves of hostility towards a main constituent of society in different countries of the world.

Qatar affirmed that it would remain supportive of the values of tolerance and coexistence and work to establish principles of international peace and security. It also called on all to assume their responsibilities by rejecting hate speech and incitement.
