* 4th edition of hunting and falcons exhibition at Katara concludes after achieving great success

His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani visited S'hail – Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition Saturday.
During his morning visit, he toured different sections of the exhibition, accompanied by Dr Khaled bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, the general manager of Katara – the Cultural Village Foundation and chairman of the S'hail 2020 organising committee.
His Highness the Father Amir visited the hunting, falconry supplies, adventure and trekking sections, in addition to other areas displaying the best and finest types of falcons, Katara said in a statement.










Held over five days, the activities of the fourth edition of S'hail concluded Saturday evening with the exhibition witnessing the participation of 120 local, Arab and international companies specialising in the field of falcons, hunting, camping and adventure.
The winners of the S'hail 2020 competitions were awarded last evening at the conclusion of the event.
The 5.11 pavilion was adjudged the Most Beautiful Pavilion at S'hail 2020, winning a prize of QR20,000, while Falcon Leather won the first prize of $3,000 in the Most Beautiful Falcon Hood category.
The winners were crowned by Dr al-Sulaiti.
The participating entities unanimously agreed on the success achieved by S'hail 2020 in terms of its size and diversity, the provision of all hunting equipment and other requirements, and displaying the latest types of weapons and rifles, the statement noted.
The participating firms praised the "remarkable levels" achieved by the exhibition this year, stressing its "excellent organisation in securing their needs".

They also lauded the precautionary measures implemented by the exhibition's management in accordance with the highest health and safety standards to ensure a safe experience for all concerned.
These include electronic reservation, a streamlined entry of visitors, and the sanitisation of booths, facilities and corridors.
Social distancing and electronic payment ensured that S’hail 2020 "raised itself to a leadership position among international exhibitions specialising in hunting and falcons in the Middle East region", the statement said.
S’hail has also become an important economic and marketing platform that contributes to supporting the national economy and reviving the local market.
The exhibition was able to meet the expectations of all exhibitors and cater to the requests of visitors, including falconry enthusiasts and lovers of hunting and adventure, with modern and innovative hunting, falconry and adventure supplies.
Handicrafts and art also had a presence on the sidelines the exhibition, highlighting Qatari heritage.
S’hail 2020 attracted thousands of visitors over its five-day duration and saw some high-level visits, including those by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani.
A number of other dignitaries, including ministers, sheikhs, ambassadors, and representatives of diplomatic missions, also visited S'hail.
The exhibition saw the participation of various ministries, institutions and governmental and official bodies, such as the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) represented by the Environmental Affairs and Livestock Management Sector, the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Souq Waqif Hospital – which ensured comprehensive health checks on falcons before completing the purchase process – in addition to the Al Jnoub Reserve and Qatari Al Gannas Association, the statement added.
The fourth edition of S’hail 2020 was held in partnership with the Social & Sporting Activities Support Fund, Qatar Airways, Ooredoo, Qatar Insurance Group, Milaha, and Tanzifco.
The organising committee thanked the MoI, MME, Ministry of Public Health, the QRCS and other sponsors and supporters for their efforts in making the event a huge success.
