The president of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) Ali Ghanim al-Kuwari was elected as vice president of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, after his unanimous election as President of the West Asian Federation, during the meeting held yesterday via video call.
Al-Kuwari has also obtained membership in the Executive Office of the International Volleyball Federation and will represent the West Asian Federation in the global body’s next General Assembly.
In yesterday’s meeting, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain were also elected members of the Executive Office of the Asian Volleyball Confederation.
Al-Kuwari said his unanimous election came as a result of the West Asian Federations confidence in Qatar Volleyball Association and in its ability to develop the game in the region.
Al-Kuwari pointed out the support of HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani for Qatar’s achievement in sports.
