The fourth edition of S’hail - Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition 2020 is set to begin on Tuesday at Katara - the Cultural Village.

The event will run until October 24, providing an opportunity for 112 companies from 13 countries to display their best offerings during the exhibition, Katara has said in a statement. Besides Qatar, the list of countries includes Kuwait, Pakistan, the US, the UK, Spain, Turkey, Belgium, Lebanon, Portugal, Romania, France and Hungary.

The exhibition will be open daily from 9am until noon and from 4pm until 10pm, with sterilisation of the venue taking place between 2pm and 4pm. On Friday, it will receive visitors from noon until 11pm.

In a statement yesterday, Katara said preparations have been finalised for the event in accordance with the schedule, in order to have everything ready on time for the exhibition's opening tomorrow. The event takes place in Katara's Al Hikma Square.

Representatives of all the participating international companies have arrived in Doha, according to Katara, and all necessary preparations and arrangements have been made for a convenient experience for both participants and visitors.

Throughout the duration of the exhibition, the management of S’hail will implement a series of precautionary and protective measures against Covid-19 to guarantee a safe experience for everyone concerned. This will be done by observing strict social distancing rules, constant sanitisation and by making sure that all workers and visitors display the 'green' healthy code on the Ehteraz app and have a normal body temperature before entering the venue.

Besides, any other precautionary updates will be accounted for, as announced by the government in the coming period.

Hunting enthusiasts and lovers will be able to take part in an online falcon auction through a special smartphone application to reduce direct interaction among participants at the venue. Besides, the transactions will be conducted through bank transfers to avoid touching cash or bank cards. Entry to the exhibition will be through pre-booking and registration through the S'hail website.

Accompanying the exhibition, the organising committee will hold a number of related cultural and heritage programmes to introduce falconry to visitors and fans, in addition to various aspects of the Qatari heritage with a focus on hunting skills and tools.

This edition of the exhibition will see the launch of two contests - one for the most beautiful commercial stall with a first prize of QR20,000, and the other for the most beautiful falcon veil with three prizes allocated for the three best designs.

The organising committee will also host a varied group of cafes and restaurants that will prepare fresh meals on the occasion while following the necessary Covid-19 precautions.

Abdulrahman bin Abdulatif al-Mannai, executive director of the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund, said he was happy to announce the support of the fund for S'hail for the third consecutive year, noting its great success regionally and internationally.
