The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has announced that applications for licensing and operating new private schools and kindergartens for the 2021-2022 academic year will be received from November 1 until December 31.
Through a notification in local media, the ministry said it has set conditions and requirements pertaining to the owner, premises and academic aspect of the new schools and kindergartens in accordance with the Private School Licensing Manual.
The applicant should not be an employee of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education or of any of its affiliated bodies, the notification states. A copy of the applicant's ID card is required, and the applicant should not be less than 21 years of age.
Applications have to be submitted online through the MoEHE website http://www.edu.gov.qa

Investors can apply for private school licences in November and December of each year through the school registration portal, according to information available on the ministry's website.
Last year, the MoEHE received applications for licensing and operating new private schools and kindergartens from November 3 until December 31.
The conditions for approving an application to open a private school include having a suitable building according to the set standards and obtaining the Civil Defence approval regarding safety and security conditions, as well as all other necessary approvals from various authorities concerned, among others, according to earlier reports.
