The 3rd edition of the Traditional Handicrafts Exhibition was opened yesterday at Katara – the Cultural Village, Building 48, by general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti in the presence of a number of diplomats and other dignitaries.
The 10-day exhibition, will be open daily from 9am-12noon, and 4pm-10pm while the kiosks of the participating countries which include Ethiopia, Syria, Palestine, Tunisia, Morocco, Sudan and Iran, will be open only from 4pm-10pm.  
The exhibition focuses on the various creations of a number of handicrafts professionals, covering a wide range of materials and artistic innovations.
At the opening, Dr al-Sulaiti stressed the role of Katara in encouraging such forms of art and its keenness on helping these professions survive and flourish, while displaying the beautiful and aesthetic side of this aspect of the Qatari heritage.
He also asserted that Katara is very keen to maintain all necessary preventive and precautionary measures set forth by the authorities concerned in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19.
