Qatar Chamber, in collaboration with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA), has updated and improved its ‘Labour Re-employment Platform’.
The platform, which was launched by the chamber in July, was updated to be an inclusive electronic gateway available for all companies, according to a joint statement. The update includes setting up an electronic link with the ministry and the chamber to further streamline the platform’s operations
According to the update, companies looking to hire new employees can login to the platform via https://jobs.qatarchamber.com/ar/ to register and get a username and password.
The company will then receive an email to activate the registration. After that, it can login to fill in the required information and will be classified as ‘under review’. The application will then be forwarded to the ministry, which will verify the company’s data whether it has any labour-related violations.
An email will then be sent to the company stating that the application is ‘approved’, thereby allowing the company to review the candidates’ resumes. After the company shortlists the candidates, it will receive a link to complete procedures of changing the workplace.
Following the completion of the procedures with the ministry and the transfer of employment to a new company, the ministry, and through the Joint Commission, will notify the chamber of the workers’ names who have moved to a new company. The names will then be removed from the platform.
In case of the application is rejected due to violations made by the company, an email will be sent to the company stating the reason of disapproval and a request to resolve any issues so that it can use the platform again.
The labour platform aims to help companies hire workers and ensure the continuity of projects and businesses in the local market. It also aims to help companies find laid-off or redundant workers from other companies, thus avoiding any shortage of labourers.
Since its inception a few months ago, the platform saw a large turnout from companies searching for new workers in the private sector. There are currently more than 1,300 companies registered in the platform.
A joint committee from the chamber and the ministry supervises and operates the platform to help companies hire and maintain skilled labour in Qatar, as well as to facilitate the re-employment of labourers within the local market.
