Qatar's embassy in Mexico City has delivered medical aid provided by Qatar Charity to Mexico, specifically to the state of Puebla and the municipality of Nezahualcoyotl, as a contribution to efforts to combat the coronavirus (Covid-19).
Mexico's Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs Martha Delgado, Secretary of Economy in the State Government of Puebla Olivia Salomon Vivaldo, Mayor of Nisawalcoiotel Juan de la Rosa, and several officials attended the aid delivery.
In a speech on this occasion, Delgado expressed her thanks and gratitude to Qatar and its wise leadership on behalf of Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard and referred to the continued support of Qatar and the friendly relations between the two countries.
She said that Qatar's support is a clear example of the importance of relations between the two countries in the face of the current difficult circumstances, expressing her thanks to Qatar Charity, the embassy, and the organisations that contributed to the delivery of the aid shipment.
In a speech on this occasion, Qatar's ambassador to Mexico Mohamed bin Jassim al-Kuwari stressed the importance of this co-operation in the period of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He referred to the assistance provided by Qatar to a large number of countries to confront the pandemic and its continuous co-operation with Mexico and its friendly people.
On behalf of the people and government of Puebla, Vivaldo thanked Qatar and Qatar Charity for the support and assistance provided to the people of her state.
She emphasised that Qatar's assistance to them represents a window of hope in the current difficult pandemic circumstances, and referred to the Qatari foreign policy, which is considered an ideal embodiment of the wise leadership's directives and the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Mayor de la Rosa also expressed his thanks to Qatar for the aid from Qatar Charity, which will allow them to confront the pandemic, recalling the food aid previously provided by the embassy for low-income families.
