The Cabinet on Wednesday approved a draft law by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education on forming a committee that will deal with the affairs of schools, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
This came at the Cabinet's regular meeting chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani at the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi issued a statement on the details of the proceedings.
The committee will have the powers mentioned in Law No 32 of 2019 on staff regulations for schools. These include choosing school principals, suggesting the allocation of new schools and their names in line with geographic and population needs, suggesting the plans required to develop education, following up on their implementation, examining the structure of schools and giving their opinion on it, QNA added.
The Cabinet also approved a draft decision by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education on forming a committee for school employees. This committee will also have the powers mentioned in Law No 32 of 2019 on staff regulations for schools, which include suggesting plans to improve the efficiency of employees.
Further, the Cabinet gave its nod to a memorandum of understanding in the field of diplomatic training signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Diplomatic Institute in Qatar, and the diplomatic institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Moldova.
The Cabinet reviewed the results of the 106th session of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League that took place on September 3 via video conference, and took the appropriate decisions in that regard.
