Al Kharaitiyat defeated Al Ahli 2-0 in Round 2 (Group B) of the Ooredoo Cup at the Al Arabi Stadium yesterday.
In other games yesterday, Al Gharafa defeated Al Rayyan 2-0, while Al Arabi beat Umm Salal 3-0.
Evans Mensah (59th minute) and Abdulhadi Amin (90+3) scored for Al Kharaitiyat, who raised their points tally to six, whereas Al Ahli have yet to open their account as they had lost 1-5 to Al Arabi in their opener.
In fact, Al Kharaitiyat, who were promoted to this season’s top flight by virtue of being the Second Division champions, continued from where they left off in the opening round, where they defeated Al Rayyan by a 4-1 margin.
