The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has updated the working mechanisms of several Qatari meteorological centres, aiming for more accurate weather forecasting and detection of weather elements than what is currently available. The CAA also recently set up an integrated, multi-functional weather station at the northernmost point of Qatar, Al Ruwais Port. The new station takes measurements of all main atmospheric conditions such as temperature, humidity and pressure. It also measures wind speed and direction at two different levels, 2m and 10m, in addition to measuring seawater salinity and temperature.
