Qatar called on the international community to eliminate the state of disability that it suffers from towards the Palestinian cause, and renewed its firm position in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause, in order to regain all their legitimate rights and establish their independent, fully sovereign state.

This came in the statement of the State of Qatar delivered by HE the State of Qatar's Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva Ambassador Ali bin Khalfan Al Mansouri, during a general debate on the situation of human rights in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories, at the Human Rights Council's forty-fifth regular session.

HE Ambassador Al Mansouri stressed the importance of preserving Item 7 as a major item in the work of the Human Rights Council, and the need to participate in it, due to its importance in documenting and highlighting the grave human rights violations and crimes committed against the Palestinian people.

He said, that the State of Qatar strongly condemns all violations committed by occupying Israel against the Palestinians, and that it affirms that a permanent, just and comprehensive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict must be carried out in accordance with international law and the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, which links normalization with the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the occupied Arab lands, to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Al-Quds as its capital, and the reaching of a just solution to the Palestinian refugee problem.

He also affirmed the State of Qatar's condemnation of Israeli policies and practices to impose fait accompli policies by continuing settlement activities and Judaizing the city of Jerusalem and changing its demographic, political and religious composition, through forcible transfer, expulsion of Palestinians and the confiscation and demolition of their homes for the benefit of Israeli settlers, in clear violation of relevant international laws and conventions, and Security Council Resolution 2334.

Al-Mansouri considered that the deterioration in the living conditions and humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, due to the continuing unjust siege imposed on it, and the continuation of Israeli attacks and military operations, is something that cannot go on, and the international community must take all necessary measures to end it and support reconstruction efforts before the situation reaches unmanageable level.

The permanent representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva called on the international community to get rid of the state of disability that he suffers from towards the Palestinian cause, especially since everyone recognizes and acknowledges its justice.

He added: "We also call for exploring ways to reach true peace, and to move effectively to confront all attempts and projects aimed at ending this issue and confiscating the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and to take the necessary measures to ensure the protection of Palestinians and enable them to exercise their inalienable rights."

He affirmed that the Qatar will always pursued its firm stance in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause, so that they regain all their legitimate rights and establish their independent, fully sovereign state.
