Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation has stated that the number of beneficiaries of its local, social and community aid programmes and activities in the fields of education, culture and training has reached about 18,358 beneficiaries in the period from January-September 2020.
The Foundation said the beneficiaries of social assistance and activities received about QR19mn, which included needy families and individuals.
The assistance consisted of cash and subsidies, monthly and health guarantees, debt repayment, tuition fees, marriage aid, in addition to support for cultural, social and educational activities.
The Foundation’s support stemmed from its collective responsibility and its keenness on implementing its humanitarian programmes and projects, providing a helping hand and assistance to all eligible social groups, and supporting awareness-raising activities and events that are in line with the Foundation’s goals to achieve social development, in partnership with state institutions.
More than 1,195 male and female students benefited from the Foundation’s financial aid in the field of education, amounting to one million and 406,000 riyals. The aid included tuition fees for a group of students in private schools, community schools, universities and private academies, as well as support for Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Center for Innovation and Education, in co-operation with Carnegie Mellon University in Doha.
The Foundation pays great attention to social assistance for needy families. The number of beneficiaries of social assistance reached 2,480 cases and they received about QR7,788,266 monthly, lump sum and in-kind financial aid, as well as payments for debtors during the last 10 months.
The Foundation provided social, financial and in-kind assistance to more than 2,828 beneficiaries worth QR758,651 during the blessed month of Ramadan 1441AH corresponding to the year 2020. It included financial aid for needy families and food vouchers worth QR236,000 spent through Al Meera.
A total of 270 cases of Qatari men and women benefited from the Foundation’s cash assistance which reached QR406,500.
The Foundation indicated that the number of beneficiaries of community initiatives and the support for cultural and educational activities had reached 6,157 beneficiaries, who received support valued at QR1,625,000, aiming to reinforce the principles of social responsibility, consolidation of human values, and work to spread community awareness.
The Foundation continues to provide assistance in the health field, based on its societal responsibility, and in realisation of its vision of “health and education for a better life”. The number of beneficiaries of local health projects reached 6,798 cases and they received support amounting to QR6,546,000 during the period January-September 2020. The projects included the implementation of a series of initiatives, agreements and medical aid for various groups in the society.
