Ambassadors in Qatar expressed their condolences on the demise of Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah and paid glowing tributes to his outstanding contributions to the Gulf countries, the Arab region and the world in general.

Chinese ambassador Zhou Jian described Sheikh Sabah is an old friend of China who has made great contribution to China-Kuwait strategic partnership, facilitating practical co-operation between the two countries, and deep
ening the friendship between the two peoples.
"He will be forever remembered by the Chinese people. Sheikh Sabah was also a great leader of the Arab world and had made important contributions to the peace and development of Arab States, as well as to the unity and co-operation among GCC countries.
He enjoys extensive love and respect from the people of Gulf States and will be truly remembered.
"On behalf of the Chinese embassy and in my own name, I wish to express my deepest condolences over the death of Sheikh Sabah and
extend my sincere sympathies to his family," the envoy added.
South Korean ambassador Kim Chang-mo described Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah a great leader not only for the people of Kuwait but for the whole Gulf region.
In a message to Gulf Times, the envoy recalled
that the Kuwait Amir has played an important role of mediator to reconcile the Gulf countries divided by the blockade imposed on Qatar in 2017.
"He will be remembered by his efforts to bring peace in this region. On behalf of staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Doha and the Korean community in Qatar, I would like to express my deep and sincere condolences on the demise of the Kuwait Amir. May his soul rest in peace," the South Korean ambassador added.
Pakistan ambassador Syed Ahsan Raza Shah remembered Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah as a sagacious leader, a Statesman, a messenger of peace and a great friend of Pakistan.
The envoy lauded the efforts of the late leader for the unity of the Ummah. On behalf of the embassy of Pakistan and the Pakistani community in Qatar, the ambassador conveyed heartfelt condolences to the embassy and the people of Kuwait on the sad demise of Kuwait Amir.
"I pray for Allah Subhanahu Taalah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and to grant fortitude to the people of Kuwait to bear this immense loss," the Pakistan ambassador added.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar, Andrii Kuzmenko, described Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah as a great leader of the nation, who devoted his life to the development of Kuwait, transforming it into a modern and prosperous country as well as to the strengthening of the GCC unity and maintaining peace and security in the Gulf region.
"His great mediation efforts towards solving the Gulf rift are invaluable and I am sure will be maintained by the new Kuwaiti leadership for the benefit of all Gulf nations. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the people of Kuwait on the sad demise of the Amir. What a loss for the entire region! Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kuwaiti people now!"
Ecuador embassy charge d'affaires Daniel Rivadeneira recalled that Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah epitomised wisdom, tolerance, and peace and he was a great pioneer of Gulf co-operation. He served Kuwait with honour and grace, and his work will never be forgotten.
“It is with profound grief and sadness that we received the news of the death of the Kuwait Amir. At this time of great pain and loss, on behalf of the Government and people of Ecuador, I express our deepest condolences to the Government and people of Kuwait. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the Al Sabah royal family. May God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.”
