The competent authorities have arrested more people for violating the legal requirements of home quarantine.
The arrests came in implementation of the precautionary measures in force in the country, approved by the health authorities, to ensure public safety and curb the spread of Covid-19.
In a report last night, QNA said six persons were arrested yesterday for not complying with the home quarantine requirements. The six persons being referred to the competent prosecution are Mubarak Saleh Mohamed Saleh al-Qamra, Abdullah Abdul-Razzaq Numan Ali al-Jaabari, Abdullah Mohamed Abdulhamid Yousef, Mohamed Harris Martaha, Saif Bakhit Saif al-Athba al-Marri and Khalil Eabaid al-Omar.
Earlier in the day, QNA said in another report that the competent authorities had arrested six more people for violating the legal requirements of home quarantine.
According to the report, the six persons being referred to the prosecution are Mohamed Shamil Mohamed Shareeq Sheikh Othman Sahib, Abdulhay Nasrallah Khan, Jamshid Khan Khayal Bit Khan, Amdi Latfor Othman, Mohamed Naim Abdullah Khalil al-Baker and Ahmed Badr Ahmed al-Qayed al-Emadi.
The authorities concerned have called on citizens and residents who are subject to quarantine to fully adhere to the requirements set by the Ministry of Public Health, to ensure their safety and that of others.
They warned that anyone who violates these conditions will face penalties stipulated in accordance with the provisions of Article 253 of Penal Code No 11 of 2004, provisions of Law No 17 of 1990 regarding the prevention of infectious diseases, and Law No 17 of 2002 on the protection of society.
