The Lusail Football Academy established at the Doha Golf Club will train youngsters to attain their dream of becoming professional players, its promoters said Monday.
The academy is part of the Lusail Sports Club which was launched in 2014 as Qatar’s first commercial club and has been serving the youth of the country since then.
At a press conference held Monday at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the logos for both the Lusail Sports Club as well as the academy were launched.

The press conference was attended by the club’s President Nawaf al-Mudahka,
CEO Mohamed Saeed al-Misnad, team captain Khaled Nawwaf, the club’s official spokesman Abdulhadi al-Sahli and CEO of Cosette Solutions, Omar Shamiyeh.
Cosette Solutions is Qatar’s leading company providing technological, design and branding support to businesses in various fields.

“The Lusail Sports Club was launched from an idea to educate and train Qatari youth,” club president Nawaf al-Mudahka told journalists at the press conference.
“We have established the Lusail Football Academy in the Doha Golf Club to support the youngsters falling in the age groups of 4 to 16 years old.
The training period is divided into three stages.
Each stage consists of a period of three months and the door is open to residents of all nationalities,” al-Mudahka added.
Cosette Solutions CEO Omar Shamiyeh said the development of community sports is one of the key areas Lusail Sports Club and the Lusail Football Academy are looking into.
“One of our most important goals is to develop community sports and to help develop Qatari players in all sports fields.
We sponsored world champion Mutaz Barshim, and we seek to help develop future stars also,” Shamiyeh said.
