The Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has announced the results of the draw for the third phase of Al Furjan Markets and the first stage of Al Ezab Markets.
The bank adopted an electronic lottery mechanism to select the winners in the two projects after being audited and programmed to suit the process and its transparency, in addition to being reviewed by an external auditing company specialising in this field, under the supervision of a committee consisting of several government agencies.
The selection of the reserve for the winners was also made through the same electronic lottery.
QDB had announced the end of the registration period for the lottery, which began on August 9 and continued until September 9.
There were 155,600 applications submitted online for 130 shops distributed in 12 Al Furjan markets, and 29 stores in three markets of Al Ezab markets.
Executive Director of Real Estate Projects Department at QDB, Bassam al-Mannai, said the bank introduced the Al Ezab markets project for the first time in 2020, in line with QDB’s plans to support the commercial and service sector in the country as part of developing a sustainable economy consistent with Qatar National Vision 2030 to create a sustainable and diversified economic environment.
The event to announce the winners witnessed the presence of officials from the Ministries of Commerce and Industry and the Municipality and Environment.
The two projects aim strategically to contribute to the economic and urban renaissance by providing service and commercial facilities in the declared areas, which will play a central role in meeting the needs of the residents of these areas, in addition to providing the necessary commercial and service activities for the Al Ezab complexes and their workers. – QNA
