The new additions include 10 water tankers to irrigate trees with a capacity of 5,500 gallons each, 10 vehicles to spray insecticides with a capacity of 1,000 litres each, 10 trailers of 32 cubic meter each, four cranes, three bulldozers, 10 loaders of 3 cubic meter each, two 6-tonne telescopic forklifts and one excavator.
Also, the General Cleanliness Department received 30 new vehicles and equipment, including 10 trailers, 10 street sweeping vehicles and 10 tractors with street sweepers to enhance its fleet of vehicles

Sheridah Sultan al-Rumaihi, director the Mechanical Equipment Department, said they are keen to enhance its fleet with the latest vehicles and equipment in accordance with the work demand and to offer high-quality service.
He said a tender was offered to rent light vehicles for four years by the MME, which include electric vehicles for the first time, as these are environment-friendly options that will help decrease carbon emissions.
The department, in co-operation with the General Cleanliness Department, has organised a training course for a week for 86 drivers to train them on how to operate the new vehicles and equipment.
