The General Cleanliness Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), in co-operation with Doha Environmental Actions Project has carried out a cleaning campaign of Umm Bab Beach on the occasion on the World Cleanup Day, which falls on September 19 each year.
Large quantities of different waste were removed from the beach. The General Cleanliness Department honoured a number of cleaning workers in appreciation for their daily efforts to keep the various areas of the country clean. The MME also launched a public contest on public hygiene law through its Instagram account as part of raising awareness.
