The competent authorities on Wednesday arrested four people who violated the legal requirements for home quarantine, QNA reported.

The arrests came in implementation of the precautionary measures in force in the country, approved by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) to ensure the achievement of public safety and to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The four persons being referred to prosecution are Said Mohamed Taleb Afefah al-Marri, Salah Hassan Hosh Bakht, Mohamed Mohamed Ibrahim Nuwwara and Masaud Rehaiman Said Rehaiman.

The authorities concerned have called on citizens and residents who are subject to quarantine to fully adhere to the requirements set by the MoPH to ensure their safety as well as that of others.

The authorities have warned that anyone who violates these conditions will expose him/herself to the penalties stipulated in accordance with the provisions of Article 253 of Penal Code No 11 of 2004, the provisions of Law No 17 of 1990 regarding the prevention of infectious diseases, and Law No 17 of 2002 on the protection of society.
