*Capacity of gyms, health clubs and public swimming pools down to 30% as second part of fourth phase of lifting Covid restrictions begins

The capacity of cinemas and theaters stand increased to 30% from Tuesday, provided that all precautionary measures against Covid-19 are followed, with entry only for those who are 18 years and above, the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management announced on Monday.

Based on the indicators of the spread of Covid-19 in the community, as well as public health indicators which are continuously monitored in Qatar, the second portion of the fourth phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions will start Tuesday, it was explained in a statement released by the Government Communications Office (GCO).

While the restrictions lifted as of September 1 will remain in place, the second part of phase four will also see reducing the capacity of gyms, health clubs and public swimming pools to 30%, while following all precautionary measures that have been previously announced by the relevant authorities.

"From the beginning of part two of phase four, the relevant authorities will continue to assess the situation and consider re-imposing or lifting some restrictions based on developments and health indicators," the statement said.

The Supreme Committee for Crisis Management thanked both citizens and residents for their critical contribution to the efforts aimed at combating Covid-19 and their commitment to following preventive measures, which have helped to limit the spread of the virus in the community and contribute to a gradual decline in cases.

With the gradual lifting of the Covid-19 restrictions, the Committee stressed that it is necessary to continue adhering to these measures at all times, especially during the coming period which will see further lifting of restrictions.

The Supreme Committee for Crisis Management emphasised that the evaluation of lifting or imposing further measures depends on the co-operation of everyone and the commitment to following precautionary measures, including wearing masks while outside, washing hands, maintaining a safe distance, and activating the Ehteraz smartphone application.
