Commercial Bank has received ‘The Best Retail Bank in Qatar Award for 2020’ by The Asian Banker for the fourth consecutive year.
Commercial Bank’s Group CEO Joseph Abraham said, “We are pleased to receive The Best Retail Bank in Qatar award from a prestigious provider. This award reflects the investment we have made in innovative digital technologies and validates our strategic focus on client experience.”
Commercial Bank underwent a stringent evaluation, with the awarding body introducing more complex judging scorecards this year in order to evaluate how banks are adapting to the rapid transformation of the financial industry. The bank’s customers were also engaged through surveys and the results were incorporated in the evaluation process.

2020’s award for “Best Retail Bank in Qatar” adds to a number of recent accolades that underline Commercial Bank’s strategic objectives of creativity, innovation, and providing the best client experience.
The Asian Banker also awarded Commercial Bank the Best Digital Deposit Product of the year. The bank was selected amongst many competitors from Asia, Africa and the Middle East with their Mobile App service, “My Goals.”
This service is accessed through Commercial Bank’s Mobile App and enables customers to set a goal, calculate the amount needed to save and, in few clicks, open a new account and regular standing order to help achieve their saving goal.
Commercial Bank was recently awarded the Euromoney “Excellence in Leadership in the Middle East” Award, The Banker Award for “Innovation in Digital Banking” in the Middle East, Finance Monthly magazine’s CFO Award, The Asian Banker “Best Digital Bank in Qatar” award, in addition to seven “prestigious” awards from Global Finance Middle East 2020.
