The two-year-old filly Jumay made a perfect debut to her career as she won the Prix Imprimerie de l’Oudon at Cholet in France yesterday.
Owned and bred by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, the chestnut filly presented her credentials well in the in the 1900m race for two-year-old maiden fillies. She travelled on the outside of the racing pack in mid-division under Soufiane Saadi.
Once in the straight, she came across to the stands-side rail to secure a net victory by a neck in front of pacesetter Bazoques. High Lady was further three quarters of a length behind in third.
Jumay is trained by Henri-Alex Pantall. She is a daughter of French Fifteen, who is owned by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani’s stallion and is the sire of 87 winners with this win, including Sheikh Abdullah’s French King, a multi-Group 1, Group 2 and Listed winner.
