Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) has relaunched its well received ICBF Life Insurance Scheme in association with Damaan Islamic Insurance Company (Beema), after a break of few months due to the Covid-19 situation.
The project enrolls all Indian residents in Qatar for the Life Insurance programme with the coverage of QR100,000 for two years at a premium of QR125.
The scheme was started in December 2019 and in a short span of time, it became very popular among the Indian diaspora and people started joined the scheme in large numbers. Many Indian companies as well as Indian associations too conducted campaigns to get their staff enrolled in the programme to get maximum members as this is a unique programme that provides maximum benefits at a very low cost.
P N Baburajan, president ICBF, said, “Community was eagerly waiting for the insurance scheme to restart as many people realised the value of such a scheme at a very low cost. We are glad to restart it now, so the community members and families benefit from it.”
ICBF head of media and development, Juttas Paul said, “In a short span of few months, we have received eight claims out of which claim distribution has been completed for four and other claims are in progress. Though it is painful that few of those took the insurance have passed away, the scheme could provide some immediate finance relief to their family members during this difficult time.”
The scheme also covers permanent or partial disability up to the maximum covered amount depending on the severity of the disability.
