NIA Hindi Toastmasters Club recently organised an online slogan writing contest as part of the club’s open house programme. More than 100 guests joined the online event from Qatar, India and Singapore. 
During the contest, the guests were entertained by the poetry of well-known poet Amit Sharma, who joined from India as the chief guest. 
Later, other artists like standup comedians Sumit Kakkar and Rahul Giridhar also joined from India to entertain the participants with their satire and jokes. The performance of comedian Mamta Babbar from Qatar was also very entertaining.
More than 20 participants took part in the contest. The contest was conducted in two rounds – semi-final and final. In a tough competition, Poonam Tanwar secured the first position while Avaneesh Agarwal and Shalini Verma were declared winners for second and third positions respectively. The contest showcased the impromptu skills and talents of participants who were shown more than three posters to write the slogans. The contestants were evaluated by chief judges; Surya Narayanan, Sameer Moosa and Soniya Jadav along with a panel of anonymous judges.
Thayaan, District 116 director; Ravi Shankar, district admin manager; and Riana Pinto, Division B director; graced the occasion. The event was anchored by Dr Meenu Parashar, the club president, and was supported by Kumaran C S, Area 7 director. The event was co-ordinated and supported by the club’s executive committee members namely; Komal Bhandari, Alka Chaudhary, Asha Sehgal, Nasreen Bano, Nahid Kausar and Latika Pant.
