The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Fisheries Department, has released 35,000 baby yellowfin seabream (Al Shaam), each weighing 4gm, into Qatari marine waters.

With the latest release, the total number of baby Al Shaam fish, released into the sea so far, reached 126,000.

The latest batch is the fourth and the baby fish are distributed in such a way to ensure the availability of adequate conditions for their growth and their protection from predators.

A statement from the MME said that as many as 200,000 baby fish will be released in order to improve the country’s fish wealth.
