Shura Council participated on Thursday in a parliamentary webinar titled Compliance and Implementation under the Paris Agreement, organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union, in co-operation with the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law. During the webinar, discussions focused on exchanging best practices and current legislation to clarify how the participating parties can establish structures of law and governance for the optimal implementation of the provisions of the Paris Agreement, and discussing how to coordinate between the local legislative and executive bodies to activate international legal obligations.
HE Shura Council member Yousef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari represented the Council in the webinar.
