The The Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa), through the National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), is organising a national competition titled 'Monthly Conservation Balance' for Qatari customers until August 31.

Valuable rewards will be offered to customers with the highest consumption reduction rate in three months, Kahramaa has said in a statement.

The competition is being organised remotely in view of the current Covid-19 pandemic and as part of the precautionary measures in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

Tarsheed has called on Qatari subscribers to register for the 'Monthly Conservation Balance' competition through the Kahramaa website (Km.qa) or via SMSes sent by Tarsheed to the targeted category of customers containing a link for registration and awareness advice.

After the registration process, the subscriber will get a Tarsheed bag containing related awareness brochures and samples of the tools used for conservation, such as water-saving tap heads and LED lights.

The 'Monthly Conservation Balance' competition is organised as part of Tarsheed’s plan to raise awareness among community members on conservation-related issues in order to achieve its goals of reducing electricity and water consumption, achieving energy efficiency, reducing harmful carbon emissions and preserving the environment in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Tarsheed has been organising competitions every year since its establishment in 2012 under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the statement adds.
