Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) organised two orientation events for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) providers in Qatar through Microsoft Teams recently.
The first orientation on Activity-Based Accreditation System, targeted non-accredited CPD providers in Qatar and was attended by CPD programme co-ordinators from various healthcare institutions within the country.
The presentation detailed the activity-based accreditation process and was followed by an intensive discussion, and questions and answers session, as part of the National Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development Accreditation System.
The session highlighted delivering online activities in accordance with the new global trends due to the ongoing pandemic and gathering restrictions.
The second event which is a CPD Provider Accreditation Orientation was aimed at detailing the standards and processes for the accreditation of CPD providers, application review, decision making, audit, live audit and appeal processes in a very interactive discussion.
The two workshops are part of the efforts of the Health Professions Department at MoPH at raising the level of health services in the country by providing accredited continuous professional development activities so that licensed health practitioners in Qatar can enhance their skills and professional knowledge to keep up with all new developments in the health field, in addition to meeting the requirements of renewal of a licence to practise in the country.
